Underground House

So yeah, I want to build an underground house.
I'll eventually put stuff on this page having to do with just that.

Here's a video of a 3D rendering I did with the basic layout Based on Mike Ohler's design.

The difference between my design and Mike's is the shelf-walls on the sides of each room, which serves both to reinforce the walls and to prevent moisture leaking in. A 6ft, straight up-and-down wall has more potential to leak underground moisture than a wall that stops 3ft down and moves in another 3ft.

Also, we don't need to walk all the way across a room. Using the sides as shelf space and storage makes the room appear more spacious without actually adding floor space. That's less digging.

Note the pyramid-shaped skylights are tilted at an angle so the draining water doesn't pool up against a flat surface, but instead, is diverted to either side to flow easily downhill.
